"The Dice team is currently finalizing the 1.5 Battlefield 2142 update for Mac users. More information will be posted on the Battlefield Portal site when the update is finalized.

Changelog
FEATURES

- Added community maps, Wake Island 2142 and Operation Shingle
- Added the ability to use widescreen resolutions.
- Added No Vehicles mode.
- Added Conquest Assault mode.
- Changed the volume control for the Commander Voice Over on request of the esports community.
- Changes made to pod steering mechanism to improve control while limiting pod surfing.

FIXES

- Fixed the loading issue caused by corrupt Radial.cdb file
- Various changes made to prevent cheating.

Both The Sir. Community (The Sir. Community™) and Jason Brice (www.MGXCLAN.com) have been hard at work implementing feedback from the Beta to improve and tweak their maps for final release.

WAKE ISLAND 2142

Narrowed down the land bridge
Fixed FAVs not spawning more than twice
Add wrecked gunship to titan deck

Create path from Village to other side of island

Tickets have been reversed. Attacking team now has extra 30 tickets.
Columns/Command Center/Refugee Camp flags cannot be capped from a level below their locations.
Battle Walkers no longer do the MOONWALK on spawn
minculldistance has been removed

Starting today you can be part of the Beta phase of Battlefield 2142 Update 1.50. Update 1.50 is a big step for Battlefield as it is the first time we have included community created maps and included them into an update. Wake Island makes a come back thanks to The Sir. Community and appears alongside a brand new map new to Battlefield created by Jason Brice, Operation Shingle. Also, for those who prefer to fight on foot, we have added a No Vehicle option to a number of maps to allow you to fight without worrying if you’ll come face to face with a Battle Walker. Also, as requested by match broadcasting groups we have separated the Commanders voice volume from the Sound Effects so you can keep the explosions and gun fire without the Commander interrupting the broadcast.

I have released my first version of a brand new autokicker for vehicles in Battlefield 2142. Its called Battlenimix, and is completely ad-free.
it has graphics of server activity of the last 5 hours and more highly configurable options.

The people over at BF-News.DE have posted up an interview with the crew behind the First Strike Mod. They talk about their upcoming 1.2 release, ranks & rewards and beyond 1.2.

What's the status of your mod at the moment? How close are you to releasing 1.2?

Imperial: The mod is nearing release, we will make no promises on a date, but it shouldn't be long. We're currently wrapping up the maps, doing final bug tests and tweaks to vehicles for balance and getting ready to do some stress testing to avoid some of the hassles of our first release.


In an older interview, you promised that we would see the Death Star Attack as an Objective Mode type game, but didn't know exactly how this would work, has this changed yet? Will we launch torpedoes at a wall to destroy the Death Star (again), like we did in Galactic Conquest (BF1942)?

Imperial: You certainly will not be shooting at a wall. Luke had to shoot a torp down an exhaust port in the movie and you will be doing the same :)

RedMonkey: Come check out our Battle of Yavin update at First Strike Conversion for BF2142 for a little more info on destroying the Death Star.
